Have you ever packed so much for a trip and by the time you got to your destination, you didn’t even wear half of what you packed. I’m a huge fan of the one carry-on and one personal guideline because it eliminates the what’ifs, for example, what if the airlines lose my luggage? You merely have everything you will need on the trip at the tips of your hands, and keep it moving once you land at your final destination. Here are a couple of suggestions that will help you minimize, organize and add space to your luggage.
- Roll your clothes, instead of folding
- Use a toiletry bag to help with the organization
- Use a jewelry bag to help with the organization
- Place your shoes on the corners of the bag
- Remember to leave some space available to souvenirs and extra items you may purchase on the trip (we suggest your backpack to be as empty as possible when traveling to store the items you plan on buying throughout the trip)
- Purchase travel size toiletries
- Do not bring un-necessary things, if you have to think twice; you don’t need it.
- Less is best, remember you are going on this trip to explore, have fun and to experience, not just to post on Instagram (LOL)
If you follow these few suggestions, your travel experience will be epic and more accessible. Note: I use this method on both domestic and international, no more than a 7 day trip.
